We have been living and working in Strangways since the early ’80’s.
Trefor’s fabricated metal sculptures arise organically and are rooted in
the physicality of the materials and the processes.
When he began making sculptures in the 70’s he was influenced by memories of a childhood spent frequenting the docks in a Welsh coal port< which led to a lifelong facination with things mechanical.
His current work is loosely based on his own physiology.
Belinda’s drawing practise takes her out and around Strangways with a drawing block and pens to capture the views across to the plateau and the ancient volcanoes, focusing on the unspoken history embedded in humble fenceposts and other agricultural detritus.
